While pregnant, I went down the rabbit hole of what ingredients are being added to our foods and everyday product. I became aware regarding the different types of ingredients that are in our everyday products. Sadly, a lot of it includes ingredients which are unfortunately not as safe as one would think. So I began my journey into looking at different alternatives. One of the first things I looked into was our toothpaste.

Did you know that fluoride has been linked to neurotoxicity? This in turn can have a negative impact on memory and learning. I encourage you to do some research. Of course we do our best to rinse and spit when brushing our teeth. Even after rinsing and spitting, there is always residue remaining which is absorbed by our bodies. I don’t know about you, but I rather go with the safer option.

So what’s my favorite brand?

Boka! Just as you can see in the photo. Boka is one of the top popular brands of toothpaste that contain hydroxyapatite. So what’s hydroxyapaptite? It’s an alternative to fluoride that is naturally restorative and helpful in reduce sensitivity.

I particularly picked Boka because of the raving reviews. Especially the ones it received from people who deal with sensitive teeth. One of our family members has sensitivity and regular over-the-counter toothpaste do not help. Toothpastes with the label ‘whitening’ would always increase the tooth sensitivity. So when I read the claims on how Boka reduced the sensitivity of people’s teeth after using Boka regularly, I placed my order. Not only that, I continue to do so till the day.
